Kara Brooke Goddard, PharmD, is a PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Specialty Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Grady Health System. Her primary interests include emergency medicine, trauma, and critical care. Her research project is focused on evaluating emergency department visits due to medication related problems. Upon completion of her residency, she plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in emergency medicine.
Tara Holt, PharmD is a PGY-2 Critical Care Specialty Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency at Grady Health System. Her primary interests include critical care and emergency medicine. Her research project will focus on prescribing practices of quetiapine for treatment of delirium in the intensive care unit. Upon completion of her residency, she plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in critical care or emergency medicine.
Bailey Guest, PharmD is a PGY-2 Infectious Diseases specialty resident. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in Athens, GA. His primary interests include infectious disease, critical care, and internal medicine. His research project will focus on evaluating inpatient and outpatient penicillin allergy skin testing. Upon completion of his residency, he plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in infectious diseases.
Andy Perez, PharmD is a PGY-2 Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Prior to her Doctorate of Pharmacy, she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon completion of her PGY-2 Heme/Onc pharmacy residency, she plans to become a hematology/oncology clinical pharmacist specialist at a large teaching institution. She would also like to serve as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents.
Grishma Desai, PharmD is a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Tennessee College Of Pharmacy in Memphis, Tennessee. Her primary interests include internal medicine and infectious diseases. Her research project focuses on the change in hemoglobin values after the administration of intravenous iron therapy on chronic hemodialysis patients with anemia and elevated ferritin levels at Grady Health System. Upon completion of her PGY-1 pharmacy residency she plans to pursue a clinical pharmacist position in internal medicine.
Dayne Laskey, PharmD, is a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in Storrs, CT. His primary interests include toxicology, medicinal chemistry, and emergency medicine. His research project focuses on evaluating the heparin dosing protocol at Grady Health System. Upon completion of his PGY-1 year, he will go on to complete a PGY-2 Toxicology Fellowship program with the Georgia Poison Center.
Elyse Hall Panjic, PharmD is a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in Birmingham, Alabama. Her primary interests include oncology and critical care. Her research project will focus on evaluating the safety and efficacy of anticoagulation during aquapheresis in patients at Grady Health System. Upon completion of her PGY-1 Pharmacy residency she plans to pursue a specialty residency.
Amy Schultz, PharmD is a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy in Richmond, Virginia. Her primary interests include emergency medicine, toxicology, critical care, and infectious disease. Her research project focuses on smart pump utilization at Grady Health System. Upon completion of her PGY-1 Pharmacy residency she plans to pursue a clinical specialist position in critical care or emergency medicine.
Rebecca Spivey is a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters in Business Administration degree from Mercer College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her primary interests include internal medicine and primary care. Her research project focuses on the incidence and impact of estimating patients’ body weight for alteplase administration on patient outcomes at Grady Health System. Upon completion of her PGY-1 Pharmacy residency she plans to pursue a clinical pharmacist position with a focus in teaching.
Jennifer Sutherland, PharmD is a PGY-1 pharmacy resident. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University Of Georgia College Of Pharmacy in Athens, GA. Her primary interests include critical care and infectious disease. Her research project assesses compliance with clinical practice guidelines for diagnosis and management of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, as well as evaluating current pretest probability scoring systems. Upon completion of her PGY-1 Pharmacy residency she plans to pursue a specialty residency.
